A collection of works spanning from 2020 to 2025, this exhibit reflects my journey as an artist and a Latino immigrant. Through a blend of personal experiences, cultural influences, and community ties, each piece represents the intersection of history, identity, and evolving expression.
The Past is honored through works like Tree Queen, which explores cultural displacement and the immigrant experience, and the Scribble Collection, where I reinterpreted classical art during the pandemic to connect with the masters. Textures and collages from the Popular Culture series reflect the way the past continues to shape our present.
The Present is represented by works that were created in the past but now resonate more deeply, echoing the continuous nature of growth and discovery.
In contrast, the Future is embodied in an ongoing, unfinished piece — a metaphor for life’s unpredictable journey, built slowly and steadily, much like my future.
With my heritage as a driving force, I embrace the privilege of being a Latino artist in the United States, guided by the belief that "it is through art that we will prevail and endure, it lives on after us and defines us as people." — Ri
